2011 - Precious Finds 01 ( Face Massager/ Roller )

Salam Ladies 2011 is here. Let's start a new. A year has rolled by since I last blogged. Many things have happened. Many things to share fashion and beauty wise. Many blog shops found. I barely have time these days so I will randomly blog about things I find precious and useful for us hijab ladies.

So to kick off the year 2011, I want to share with you my precious finds. So today's recommendation is the face massager.

Pardon the spelling error on the packaging. Actually I bought this face roller ( Animal Roller too bad it doesn't come with the tool to shape my chin) in Malaysia, I was curious to try it after I saw a Korean star using it on a television show. I wondered on the effects it gives after using it. Another reason I bought it was also to get a strange souvenir for myself^^

This face roller is pretty popular in Japan, Taiwan and Korea. Japan,Taiwan and Korea will always have all this strange beauty products that will make you curious to try.

What is the effect of this face roller?

Aids blood circulation and skin elasticity (I agree on this one. Because it gives you a nice face massage. Though a little painful for the first time because of the pressure it gives)
Ideal for slimming the face ( This is something I'm not sure of but it is kind of amusing how a roller can make your face appear slimmer)

How much?

Less than $5 (Value for money. Worth the buy considering the cheap price!)

Where can I buy it?

Singapore: Any push carts in the shopping mall that sells Korean or Japanese beauty tools.

International: clickit!

On this site they even sell it with the roller for your chin to get rid of your double chin.LOL.

I will give 3.5 out of 5 because I do enjoy rolling the massager on my face^^

This is a look that I wore yesterday to work. I love it because it is very modest & thought I'd share it with the readers.

I wore a hard black satin under scarf, brown hijab matched up with my tartan maxi dress and white shirt. For shoes I just wear my simple black slippers.

I am loving this site and hooked to it. It has a nutrition tracker which shows you how much you should eat daily in order to reach your goal. You will take note of what you've eaten for entire day and put it down on the tracker and you can see how much you consumed so you don't over eat.

There is a fitness tracker where you have to plan your exercise like they recommend cardio 3 times a week and they will give you strength training exercise plan. They will show you how much calories you should burn a day in order to reach your goal.

In all I love this because it's like getting a fitness trainer & fitness program for free =) So I'd recommend you join it today to a healthier you.

I have the pink one, Its the cutest the powder color is pink but when you put it on your face & rub it, it becomes normal powder.

Got Dandruff Problems? Here's a natural solution!

Well for hijabis we have to take extra care of our hair since we cover them most of the time. Do you know that almost 40 % of the world's population has dandruff? There are many reasons for this, either you got oily scalp or your scalp is too dry. Maybe due to the weather too. So this causes your dead skin cells from your scalp to shed faster which is called dandruff.

I've read some online sources and most of them said that vinegar is one of the most effective way to get rid of the flakes.

Solution
1) Rinse your hair with water preferably cold water
2) Sprayed white vinegar on your scalp
3) Let it soak in for about five minutes
4) Then wash your hair with dandruff shampoo of your choice and use conditioner as per normal

There are other natural ways such as
- tea tree oil
-lime ( Is one of the simplest way!)
-beet roots
-soap bark
These are just a few of the things to use.

How do you think you would dress? Of course most of you would think more modest than you already are. But how... do we keep in touch with our fashion sense at this age?

Trust me you can be superbly fashionable even in your 30s. Proof are my aunts, they look very fashionable and very modest even though they are like in their 40s going on 50s. They still keep updating themselves with new hijab styles which is suitable for their age.

Remember the main tip to look young is to : DRESS OF YOUR AGE and NOT dress younger than your age because it will only make you look older than you what you really are.

So if you are 30, I'd suggest this look to suit the age.

Friday Fitness - Hula Hoop

So maybe some of you are trying to lose weight and have fun at the same time. But to lose weight one of the key things is to fit your workout into your busy lifestyle. I know this seems impossible BUT hey with a hula hoop probably everything is possible.

Just spend a good 10 minutes hula hooping twice a day it will definitely increase the mobility of your hips , tighten and slim your body.

I think I'll reply to this. I myself know I am NOT forced to wear a hijab. In fact my parents gave me choice to wear it or not its up to me and I've chosen to wear it. So I am not forced. So don't make any judgmental remarks without knowing the truth. Islam is not a religion of forcing ppl to do what they don't want to. It is all in the heart.

actually, its quite the contrary, many women choose to wear hijab. many women have come from places where such styles of dress are enforced, to america where they have a choice....THEY HAVE STILL CHOSEN TO WEAR HIJAB, OR NIQAAB OR WAT EVER.
i believe you are being prejudice, and perhaps a education in what hijab represents and why so many choose it will do you some justification.
no one is forced to do anything, if you choose to be muslim, then YOU choose to follow allah's commandments!

And if you new the Quran, then you would know that to follow Allah's commandments a women does NOT have to wear a headress! In the Quran it says a woman should dress modestly and cover her bosom. Not sure where you keep your bosom but last time I check a woman doesn't need to cover her head to cover her chest!!!!

These 2 photos are below are actually traditional costumes. The head gear on the right is actually a Minang Kabau costume not a hijab style.

These traditional costumes now are easy to find the hijabify version of it. I remember how much I loved looking at her wedding photos for a very long time and thinking how lovely she looked.

So yesterday I got my pay, I went to shop for a new hijab a slip-on hijab! It is uber cute & pretty i love the fact that it is easy to wear no hassle at all! Today I had the mood to dress up a little to work for the first time ever wearing abaya which my cousin bought from Dubai. It was for my mum but I lent it from my mum. I love colours so I loved how the abaya looked on me . Here are the photos :

Man I look like a dwarf in the last photo, superbly short!
You may wonder why I wore a belt. It is only because my abaya is too big and long. The belt actually helps to shorten the length cos i pulled out about an inch of the dress over the belt. So what do you think about this abaya style? FYI I did the whole 9 yards wearing eyeliner and mascara and all. LOL. But hey the reaction I got from public was kinda surprising, people gave me stares and smiles for I don't know why.Any idea why?

The woman whose name is BOOMING in Singapore prior to the TV series she starred in called " Istri Untuk Suami ku" ( A Wife For My Husband). Her role is of a very strong woman who can't conceive a child therefore she looked for a second wife for her husband. I ALWAYS shed tears watching this show.Too sad. You may find it surprising but in real life Inneke too is having trouble conceiving a child therefore I think her acting in the TV series is strong cause she knows the well-being of the character too well. But come on who in real life willing to look for a second wife for their husbands? If there are out there. I really look up to these people cause they are SUPERWOMEN.

A friend that is always by your side.

A friend that always lend a shoulder to cry on.
It may all sounds easy but its a tough job to do trust me.

Being a good friend does involve :

Being happy for your friend though you envy at what they have.
Making one of the biggest sacrifices for them.
Pretend to be happy and alright with every of their actions although you are hurt by it.
Most of all you must be understanding and being understanding is VERY HARD to do at times.
Have you ever felt lonely even though you have plenty of good friends? I have.

Make Me Up - The Natural Look

So here this is an entry for muslim girls who hates make up but still wants to look presentable and want to put that touch of glow on your face. So here is my idea of wearing make up to the minimal and have the natural look or glow on your face. No foundation or compact powder used.

I hate wearing make up, my usual make up are only the lipgloss and the white powder featured below. If I am not lazy I would use eyeliner. If you are lucky you will see me wearing all the items below plus eyeliner which only happens once in a blue moon!

So this is dedicated to girls like me.

All you need are the above items. The blusher I use are the ones in the small glass tub it is called soft mousse blush from Avon.
Bottom is the video for it. I find it to be a bad make up video I am so sorry like I said I am NO expert.

Not much difference huh? It just gives you that healthy glow and a little colour on you. This is my natural look. I love the eyelash but I know you can't see it but I did both top and bottom lash so it will look like you have indian or latina eyes.

Hijab Style Tutorial 7: Square Hijab Series & Hijab Pin up 4 grabs

The start of a new week means new hijab style tutorials will be up. Styles you may or may not know of. So here is another square hijab style. This square hijab style is super easy and best for Bad hijab days!

A few views of this style. The front which is at the chest part is like an overlap or criss-cross of the scarf to each other. A hard underscarf is a must to make this look happen.

Ok here's the deal this dangling heart brooch which is featured in this tutorial is up for grab. Going for SGD 6 dollars (Singapore). Anyone who wants to purchase this brooch that is made by me leave a comment on my web message board or just leave a comment on this post.

Asian & Fusion Hijab Fashion Styles

Hello darlings.
Well I know Islamic fashion festival or IFF actually happened early this year when this blog haven't been kicked off. But I found some fabulous clothes on this runway which is of Asian and Fusion. I just love the designs and vibrant colours. Let it roll...
The Indonesian Style

On these Indonesian styles I totally love and amazed at the fact that they made a slip on al-amira type of hijab which many of us wear only when we wanna go grocery shopping into beautiful runway material by wrapping it with beautiful shawl.
The fusion style of Arab & Malay

Man I love the pant suit it is sooo colourfully delicious. I'd trash the turban though haha. The black suit is made of a malay traditional cloth called songket which is usually worn by royalty in the olden days but trust me this cloth is coming back in full swing!

Malay Style

These are really pure malay styles ; baju kurung and kebaya. Trust me I don't really like the ankle showing BUT this traditional costume's skirt can actually be lengthen to our liking. Actually baju kurung the second photo the skirt is suppose to be long but i think all this ankle showing are for the runway only.

These designs are the kind you can replicate and tailor it for events like Eid or so.

SOoo, my friend is an expecting mother! congratulations! This post is dedicated to you Melly and to all hijabi mothers-to-be! So maybe all the weight you've put on and belly doesn't make you feel any beautiful? Well embrace it and make the best of your pregnancy period.Remember it is all worth it. Dress like a hot momma. And to complete the whole wardrobe. We have the evening look for our mothers to be. A delicious purple dress and throw in a sparkling cardigan. This look is suitable when you have an event or dinner to go to. Remember Angelina Jolie in such a dress during her pregnancy?

today we will talk prom. Since here in Singapore many girls are going to be done with school as semester comes to end in December or earlier. What is the first thing that comes to mind when the word "prom" comes to play? Glamor , formality and goodbyes. So you do want people to remember you looking at your best for the last time don't you? So here are 3 combination of looks I have put together for this Prom Edition. Formal looks and casual/formal looks. Be inspired!Enjoy!

Formal Prom Look by Cre8tively Hijab
BLACK dress,WHITE hijab & GOLD shoes and accessories. The best formal wear color combination.The prints in the dress plays a very big part in this look so as not to make you look dead or plain. The shoes are what i call chandelier shoes are just darlings!!!So this total look don't have to be necessarily expensive.You can do what I always do. Take the idea of this look and go bargain hunting looking for similar items. Plus look as smashing as this combination. This look just screams hollywood star.
*Hijabi tip: The white hijab/pashmina is important cause if it were to be black or gold it will be too matchy-matchy.

Hot Combo by Cre8tively Hijab
This look is for those who adores colors like I do! So here is a combo of hot colors for you to turn up the heat on prom. Another red carpet potential!

Blue combo by Cre8tively Hijab
This is a look who loves colors but hates skirts. Those who wants to look chic in pants and show them who's boss. My personal favorite is this blue combo! I'd wear it with earrings though.

Like I said you don't need a lot of money to have this look all you need is a lot of heart to bargain hunt. Hope these looks will inspire your incoming prom :)

So I was on a house visit just now, was bored and flipped through a muslimah /family magazine called " Seri Dewi dan Keluarga". Guess what I found? Awesome wedding looks that you will totally love. I swear. I was like asking my aunt whether I can lend the magazine... well you girls are in luck so here are the photos of those dresses. CAUTION THIS MIGHT LEAD TO EXCESSIVE FANTASIZING

The timeless color of white for weddings. But if we already bored with white all the colors at the bottom might just wow you! Click on photos to have a closer look.

My personal favourite is the green one cos it's simple and has very nice beading at the bottom of the dress. which's your favourite?

My Designs

So some of you have been wanting me to put up photos of clothes I designed. So here they are! But keep in mind I don't sew them.

2008 design this was supposedly to be a punjabi dress but the tailor got it wrong by making the skirt a what we call "mermaid" skirt when it is suppose to be a flair skirt. If u can see, the top is made to look like you are wearing double or a tank top inside.

2006 Designs
The blue one is a normal kebaya with flair sleeves and Chinese collared top and straight cut skirt.
The white one is a dress with puffy buttoned sleeves , Chinese collared too and has a ribbon at the waist . Skirt is an A-lined skirt.

2005 designs. This is one of my first designs , I know the picture quality is like urrrgh! I so promise to get a new shot of it. Well if you can see it is a 3 piece suit . a short cropped jacket , a tank top and an a-lined skirt. well it is made out of nice Saree cloth. The inspiration of this design is ethnic and modern looking.

You may wonder why I design only once a year. These designs for are for Eid and I got them tailored and all for me and my sister, so pardon me if it has a touch of my own traditional or ethnic background. But if you could see my design file, I design everything from casual, dresses and even wedding gowns. I sooo wish I can sew, all these were sewed from the same tailor. Don't worry I may just take up lessons soon!

Hijabi Style Star - Waheeda

For you who haven't well it is a TV show that feature celebrities and their style. Well here we will have our own Hijabi Style Star...

Our first Hijabi Style Star On Cre8tively Hijab TV is Waheeda Wassini

Waheeda Wassini became well known to us ever since her single ' Wassini' became a hit. Wanna have a taste of it here you go... her voice is to die for. I just love her hijab styles from long pashminas to square hijabs. I started trying on long pashminas eversince I saw her style!

Her styles ranging from formal , eid to casual are all just fabulous! I personally favour the black and pink hijab style. Which one do you like best?
These last photos are what I call high fashion be it the beaded hijab or the semi - avant garde red dress she is wearing.

So , will Waheeda inspires your hijab style? She inspires me already!

Assalamualaikum. I am back. My lappy is great. ahaha. Well anyways sorry no tutorial for today BECAUSE my mum deleted the video from the mobile phone I recorded it on! arrgh have to do another one but its ok cos' I'm just glad my lappy is back. No tutorial videos but I do have something to share regarding fashion & nasheed.

This video came out during this recent ramadhan, I bet many asian viewers have seen it esp. ( Malaysia or Singapore) It is a video of various successful malaysian artist namely Siti Nurhaliza, Waheeda, Misha Omar, Ella and Ezlynn singing nasheed in the malay language which is so beautiful to the ears and the hijab fashion is super cute and stylish. So girls.

I am so sorry I may be away for a few days to get my laptop fixed. And insyaallah if things get better it'll be back in full swing! Just to be fair I put up the photos of my last hijab style for eid here before the tutorial. You will have to wait for the tutorial it is super hard for me to grab the only camera I have to do it. So here are the photos.

This hijab style is good only if the shawl I used was a lace/ organza and the see through type of shawl so it wouldn't be warm, I didn't have one so I had no choice did I?
